More Musical Goodness [Edited 3/14/06 - Pi Day!]
or If You Don't Care, Just Know That You Should

Although nothing could beat the incredible streak of musical genuis that appeared in stores from March to June of 2005, this year is off to a promising start.

Train has just released their fourth studio album, For You, It's Me. The last album, My Private Nation was met with mixed reviews by most people. It was definitely a step away from Drops of Jupiter. I haven't heard it yet; I'll probably get it for my birthday, although I'll certainly have to find the torrent before then. Blah blah illegal blah blah bite me.

Goo Goo Dolls are finishing up their follow-up to the incredible Gutterflower release. April 18th is the current release date for Let Love In. A track-listing should be available on their website very shortly.

Glen Phillips is releasing two - that's right, two - new albums in the next two months (roughly). His third solo album, Mr. Lemons, will be released on the Umami label on May 2nd. 11 tracks of Glen's magic will be a great way to graduate. He will also be selling an EP titled "Unlucky 7" with six outtakes from the Winter Pays for Summer sessions, but only at concerts. That is going to be hardest wait of all. In the past, Glen has posted occasionally to his myspace page, but it looks like Blogger will be hosting his his new news page.

And holy poo. Counting Crows aren't dead. Thank goodness Adam is merely depressed and jaded. This can only mean an incredibly depressing and long overdue album before the end of the year.

The Tender Box, a band that is surprisingly good for a group whose main promotion comes from a myspace page, will eventually be releasing their first LP The Score. Hopefully. The project and release dates have been postponed a number of times, which is unfortunate, since the music is pretty solid. I'm sure they will make an announcement when it's finally available to the general public.

Sister Hazel, one of the few bands I know that can crank out an album as fast as they do, has just finished working on studio production of their sixth studio album. They are currently looking at a release date sometime this summer. Can't wait!

Red Hot Chili Peppers are finally releasing the follow-up to By The Way. Why did it take so long, you ask? Stadium Arcadium is a double album of Chili Peppers goodness, that's why. Look for that one to hit stores this summer as well.
