Governor Daniels, What The Fuck, Man?
or Not My Man
From WNDU.com:
Look, your way of looking at this is completely backwards. What you're saying is equivalent to saying it is okay to "merely" shoot someone in the shoulder if someone else is shooting that person in the face. Why do we even have to be compared to other states? Be an example instead of a moron - force BP to lower their toxic output. Be the cleanest state in the Great Lakes.
Also, either your grasp of geography or English leaves much to be desired. There is in fact no such city on Lake Michigan as "Saginaw, WI." Saginaw is in Michigan. Clearly you've never spent time outside of your home in Indianapolis. Anyone in Northern Indiana could tell you that. And if those two are meant to be taken separately, are you implying that Saginaw pollutes Lake Michigan as much as Chicago? In that case, you must also mean that the level of pollution dumped into the lake in Chicago is equal to that dumped into the lake by the entire state of Wisconsin. Where the hell are you getting that figure from?
You want to wait till the facts are in before you deal with the situation? Then stop opening your mouth. You're only making it worse.
Stay young (and healthy).
Update: BP has agreed to maintain the output levels specified in their current contract agreement (not the new one being discussed). No word on whether this was a voluntary move by BP or a submission to the pressure of the state legislature. Even though Daniels seems to fully back the newly proposed contract, I'm sure the officials at BP decided that the negative reaction of the state residents and the Congressional inquiry into the matter were reason enough to back out. Chalk one up for everyone in the region except our Governor.

From WNDU.com:
Governor Mitch Daniels told us on Tuesday that he still believes Indiana did the right thing in approving the permit.
“The city of Chicago puts more ammonia in the water than BP would. The city of Detroit puts more ammonia in the Great Lakes than BP would, the city of Saginaw, Wisconsin, so I really think that its important to try to deal with the facts and the science here, and maybe that can come starting at tomorrow’s hearing,” said Governor Daniels.
