1. Are We Failing Our Geniuses? - This story looks at the plight of gifted children across the country, reflecting a problem I've been complaining about for years. In essence, "No Child Left Behind" is strangling the gifted budgets across the country by diverting money to programs to help students that are mentally incapable to achieving the standards set forth in NCLB's benchmark system.

2. Inorganic "Life" - Have we finally found a way to explain the birth of life on Earth without relying on an omnipotent being? This is probably the most interesting article I've read all year. Obviously there is still a huge gap between the observed phenomena and actual spontaneous generation of life. However, it's undeniable that this is a huge piece of one of the biggest questions that plagues our species.

3. BP  Hates Hoosiers - Certainly it's not just Hoosiers, but we're one of their current shame-targets. I'm sure everyone in the state is already aware of the BP dumping permit scandal. The general idea - that a company can get away with shit like this - is something that everybody in the country should pay attention to. Justifying poisoning a lake that thousands of people rely on cannot be done by creating a handful of jobs. In fact, there is no justification whatsoever for their actions. Their defense that current dumping levels are within federal regulations don't match the irritatingly friendly and clean image that their new commercials are trying to portray. No one should be patted on the back for claiming to work "just within the law."

4. Support Wrist Awareness - This is for my fellow members of the Colbert Nation. They're actually going to make the bracelets!

Now that I've taken your emotions on a menopausal roller coaster ride, sit back, pour yourself a glass of Oasis Chardonnay, and stay young.
